Amfijams
The street dance event Amfi Jams will take place this year at Circus Live as part of Kuopio Dance Festival!
The program includes DJ and dance workshops open to everyone, performances by local dance groups, and of course the open-to-all ALL STYLES BATTLE. The winner of the battle will receive a gift card for two to Restarant Panza! Vamos!
The evening party will be powered by the funk band Bossapojat starting at 8 PM. Bossapojat is a five-member band made up of young musicians from Kuopio. In 2025, staying true to tradition, the group released its acclaimed debut single Bossapojat / Ostrobogulous on a seven-inch vinyl record. Bossapojat’s setlist consists of the tightest funk music around. Improvisation plays an essential role in their performances, and you can also hear jazz influences in their music.
The event is free of charge and open to all ages.
ALL STYLES BATTLE is a competition format where dancers are not limited to one specific dance style, but are free to use any styles and combinations of styles they choose. At Amfi Jams, the battle format is 2 vs 2 with randomly selected pairs. Open to all age groups.
