Dance Challenge
The Dance Challenge, first introduced last year, is returning once again to Kuopio Dance Festival! We have challenged four well-known Kuopio residents to take dance lessons as part of a charity project.
The participants will attend ten dance classes throughout the spring. The challenge will culminate on June 8th at 7 PM at Maxim, where they will showcase their skills in a short dance performance.
Dance Challenge is not a serious competition but a joyful dance event for a good cause!
This year’s brave participants (Dance school after the name):
- CEO of Ravintolamestarit Eeva Mertanen (Salsastudio)
- Entrepreneur, festival “host” and all-around multitasker Allu Koskinen (TanssiSavo)
- Principal of Savonia University of Applied Sciences Mervi Vidgren (Tanssikoulu Wisio)
- Journalist and author Antti Heikkinen (Danceflow)
Each participant has chosen a charity that is personally meaningful to them. The audience at the event will vote for the challenge winner, and the funds raised will be donated to the winner’s chosen cause.
Kuopio Dance Festival invites companies to support the challenge and contribute to the charity fund.
Supported Charities:
- Eeva Mertanen: Mieli ry
- Allu Koskinen: Kime4Kids
- Mervi Vidgren: Nyyti ry
- Antti Heikkinen: Kuopion Lastenklinikan kummit
The event is free of charge, and the evening will be hosted by Juha Jylhäsalmi.
Follow the participants’ journey on social media and come cheer for your favorite!
In collaboration with Maxim and Peeässä.
