The Seasons – garden gnomes’ travel photos
Happily dancing through spring, summer, autumn and winter! The Seasons brings you dances and images from another tour around the sun: a butterfly resting on your face, a gnome gluing falling leaves back on the trees, a wedge of cranes dancing towards winter.
On this tour, you can see a garden gnome swinging in the wind, laundry turning into a piggie, seagulls diving for ice cream, and a darkening city brightening up with warm lights. When the snowman melts away, dandelions return. Somewhere along the way, it’s time to free your bare feet from the captivity of socks.
The Four Seasons is the first performance directed by choreographer Jyrki Karttunen for Hurjaruuth’s own stage as Director General. Intended for the whole family, the show combines dance and circus around a classic theme: the cycle of life. Carried by the music of Vivaldi, the performers bring nature to life and sometimes even raise a storm.
The delicate dances with surges of energy, and the circus artist’s Cyr wheel performances invite you on a journey into a world of glimmering light – where we all come from. What kinds of travel photos have we stored in our albums?
Wordless. Suggested age 4+
“This is a truly inventive and versatile performance for the whole family, where the dancers really put themselves out there!”
– Kenneth Kvarnström, the artistic director of the festival
