Wellness mornings

During the Festival week, we focus on well-being in the mornings. Wellness mornings will be held in the Kuopio Music Centre, Hall of Light (Valohalli) from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. On Monday, June 17th, and Tuesday, June 18th, the sessions will be held in the Dance Pavilion from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

Wednesday, June 12th. Neuro Latino dance session instructed by Sirpa Möksy. The session is suits perfectly for seniors and individuals with neurological conditions. Neuro Latino helps to maintain and strengthen the functional capacity needed in everyday life. The session will include dancing both seated and standing.

Thursday, June 13th. Gentle Flow Yoga session instructed by Saaga Lamusuo. During the session, we will first awaken and warm up the body, then increase the heart rate with more active flow-style movements to generate warmth in the body. This prepares the body for deeper stretches, which we will do at the end of the session. Please bring your own yoga mat, comfortable stretchy pants and shirt. You can also bring a towel and a water bottle.

Friday to Tuesday, June 14th to 18th, there will be a relaxing Morning Taiji instructed by Tarmo Hakkarainen. In Morning Taiji, we awaken the body in a versatile way and then quiet down with exercises derived from chi kung, taiji, tao yoga and meditation. Please bring comfortable stretchy pants and a shirt. You can also bring your own yoga mat, towel, and a water bottle. Please note that Monday’s and Tuesday’s Morning Taiji sessions will be held in the Dance Pavilion at the market square.
